D.I.Y Glittering your shoes !

I recently D.I.Yed a pair of high heels with glitter and have had some people ask for a how to. Its very easy but messing so if you don't like glitter everywhere than this is not for you!
Here are the heels I did first and than I will show the step by step for flats.

Plain black leather heels turned into my holiday heels!

First find shoes you would want to glitter,

What you need. Modge podge works too or any type of glue other than super glue

Brush on glue in small areas

Pour glitter over the glue and gently shake loose glitter off. Put paper under to catch the fallen glitter.

Keep doing that over the entire shoe.

See its messy!

When dry spray with a clear gloss spray, 2 coats.

Than let dry over night and they are ready to wear.

 

Don't walk through snow or water becase it will ruin your hard work!

 

Girl room redo

A while ago I turned our spare bed room into my girl room! Here is the before with horrid carpet.

And after with hard wood flooring and some new furniture! I did alot of upcycling and DIY.

Board Game Box D.I.Y

I had a few old board games and I recently heard about making a box out of the boards so I dug them out and gave it a try. Candy Land was my trial run because I wanted the Addam's Family one to be good!

I measured appx 3 inches in all around and cut out the areas I didn't need.

I scored the other lines, where I would need it to bend at a 90 degree angle. Than I tore layers of the card board backing off so it would be thin when I folded the sides up.

To add strength and prettiness I covered the sides with duct tape.

And than taped the sides together and

We have a box! I will add a clasp to the front so it can lock shut.

Now that I "mastered" Candy Land I can work on the box I really wanted, the Addam's Family!

This was an easy and fun project. Next I will try an Ouji board box!

Upcycling and repainting!

I have been itching to paint something and I decided to repaint my old hand me down desk. It was scratched up wood originally so I revamped it with a fun purple and off white.
I get to excited that I forget to take the before pictures! But here are the after.

Also over the weekend I got a basic white 3 draw dresser for free and decided to give that a make over too!

I actually used black and white zebra wrapping paper and painted the knobs pastel pink.

and to go with it I made a framed jewelry display from a old picture frame and screen.

A day of D.I.Y on a day Off!

The above frames are 2 ugly cheap frames I picked up at a thrift store because I like the texture and pattern. They were less than $2..00 for the set so I couldn't pass them up.

I think someone attempted a D.I.Y antiquing but to me it looks like they were caught in a fire!

I knew I had some fun paint left over from an earlier project so I knew these uglies would be pretties very soon!

After painting them I decided to have one be a french theme so I turned to my favorite Pinterest for some great ideas and I found this fun Paris picture, printed it and popped it in.

What should I put in the second frame....

My other project was Strawberry & Cream muffins that I also found on Pinterest. This has to be my favorite recipe I have tried in a long time.

 I think they came out fabulous and they are addicting!
